The Commission aims to develop regulations that will guide the process of accession. What are the opportunities and threats for Kyrgyzstan in connection with the accession to the Customs Union – there are a lot of options on this topic. First of all, after the creation of the Customs Union, Kyrgyzstan expressed desire to join the organization. The biggest concerns stem from the difference in tariffs, duties namely in Kyrgyzstan are 50% lower than those which apply in the Customs Union. On the other, hand, the access of the Kyrgyzstan will enable the creation of a strong industrial base. So far, the largest source of state revenue was the sale of imported Chinese production - not only high quality, but much cheaper than the production of any of the members of the Customs Union. Kyrgyzstan wants to open up to foreign companies, and harmonization of standards in the form of technical regulations will allow the easier access to the market and vice versa.
