The new technical regulation of the Custom Union, concerning the safety of personal protective equipment, is coming into life on June 1. This is another Regulations, a draft of which was adopted by the Commission of the Customs Union on 12.09.2011.
This adjustment is extremely important because it aims to protect human life and health, to protect the environment and consumers from the inaccurate information. Regulation specifies what materials manufacturers can use in the manufacture of personal protective equipment, and specifies the definition of personal protective equipment, which is very important.
It is worth noting that the new rules apply to all, without exception, personal protective equipment, regardless of the country in which they were produced. All products that are marketed for the first time on the Customs Union must conform to the requirements of technical regulations. Not all personal protective equipment will be subject to new requirements. The other requirements are for fire protection measures, the measures used by the MoD, the measures used in the Navy and for medical purposes.
Manufacturers do not have to fear that the regulations will force them to change the certificates and documents. The Commission anticipates that by 15 February 2014 years will be admitted trading of the products, which have permits and certificates issued before the entry into force of the new technical regulations. Personal protection equipment can be also produced under the old rules, also till the year 2014. Producers must be aware of the need to have relevant documents and certificates of current research on their production.
